Pensacola Interstate Fair Scholarships

Introduction
The Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc. supports community advancement through educational initiatives. For the 2026–2027 cycle, the John E. Frenkel, Sr. Educational Grants Selection Committee, acting with the authority of the Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc. membership, has approved Thirty Thousand dollars ($30,000) in grant funding. These awards will help twenty-five (25) students continue their post-secondary studies. Since the program’s inception, more than one million, three hundred forty-one thousand dollars ($1,341,000) have been granted to 1,397 participants.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors from Escambia or Santa Rosa counties.
- During their high school careers, applicants must have been competing entrants in categories shown in the Fair Premium Catalog, or have served as volunteers with a minimum of ten (10) documented hours of assistance as verified by Fair staff.
Award Breakdown
- Twenty (20) grants of one thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250) each will be awarded and made payable to an accredited college or university selected by the recipient.
- Five (5) vocational grants of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each will be made available and paid to qualifying vocational institutions.
Conditions of the Grants
- All awards are one-time only, non-renewable, and non-refundable. Recipients may not reapply for the same grant in subsequent years.
- Each grant covers a single academic year only: beginning with the Fall Term, 2026 and concluding with the Summer Term, 2027.
- College and university award checks will be sent to the recipients’ chosen Financial Aid offices by mid to late July, 2026.
- Grant funds are intended to offset tuition and book expenses at the post-secondary or vocational school selected by the awardee. Eligible institutions must offer acceptable Technical, Health, or Academic programs that lead to certificates, associate degrees, or baccalaureate degrees. Grant funds may also be used to purchase required computers through the school’s approved purchase program.
- Awards are not determined by financial need or solely by academic achievement. Selections are made by the Committee based on each applicant’s assessed potential for success in achieving career objectives.
- Any unused grant funds, or portions thereof, must be returned to the Pensacola Interstate Fair, Inc.
- Grants may not be transferred from one college to another during the recipient’s year of eligibility.
Selection Timeline and Compliance
- Finalists will be chosen during the fourth week of April, 2026.
- All awards comply with the provisions of the Equal Opportunities Act.
