On the late evening of June 25th, 2023, Breanna Coleman was tragically among the five lives claimed in a car mishap.
At the tender age of 18, Breanna, a recent graduate from Gateway High School, had successfully fulfilled her Dual Enrollment obligations. She was poised to embark on her journey into the nursing program at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, come Fall. Breanna, or Bre as she was fondly known, had her entire future before her, with a burning desire to dedicate her profession to the service of others.
This scholarship is established in memory of Breanna Coleman, with the aim of assisting students who resonate with her enthusiasm for nursing and altruism.
High school seniors who will be the first in their family to attend college and are planning to pursue a four-year nursing degree are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to volunteering and extracurricular activities.
As part of the application process, we would like to hear about what motivated you to choose nursing as a career path, and how you are currently contributing to your community, or plan to do so in the future.
