Knights of Columbus Pennsylvania Scholarship Program
Scholarship Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Pennsylvania State Council
The Knights of Columbus, Pennsylvania State Council, is providing ten scholarships for its members, their children, and eligible Columbian Squires. Each scholarship recipient will be granted up to $4,000 over six years to cover costs related to tuition, books, or upkeep at any college or nursing school approved by the committee. Winning one of these scholarships does not prevent the recipient from accepting other scholarships, unless there are specific restrictions.
Award Eligibility:
- Must be a current, fully paid member of a Knights of Columbus Council within Pennsylvania.
- Must be a child or stepchild of a current, fully paid member of a Knights of Columbus Council within Pennsylvania. (Please note that grandchildren are not eligible unless the grandfather is the legal guardian of the applicant.)
- Must be a child or stepchild of a deceased member of the Knights of Columbus in a Pennsylvania council who was not in arrears at the time of his death.
- Must be a qualified Columbian Squire or Squire Rose.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- The applicant must be a practicing Catholic in communion with the Holy See.
- The applicant must be a candidate for graduation from a recognized 4-year high school, or home-school equivalent, during the term ending June 2026 (or January 2026 for early graduates).
- The applicant must submit a fully completed application form, with all necessary signatures, to the Scholarship Chairman of the Pennsylvania State Council, Knights of Columbus, by December 31, 2025.
- The applicant's council must have completed and submitted Form 185 (Report of Officers Chosen for Term).
- The applicant's father's council must sell a minimum of 75 Chance of a Lifetime (C.O.A.L.) Chances for the 2025-2026 campaign. For Columbian Squires, the circle’s sponsoring council or assembly must sell at least 75 C.O.A.L. tickets by or before April 15, 2026. This requirement will be verified against the COAL chairman’s records.
Each scholarship recipient must enroll in a college or a hospital-affiliated nursing school to receive the funds. The institution can be either Catholic or non-Catholic, subject to committee approval. Payments will be made directly to the institution, not to the recipient.
