Delaware Student Ethics Scholarship

Overview The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Delaware awards scholarships to Delaware high school seniors who demonstrate strong ethical character through leadership, community service, personal integrity, and academic achievement. The BBB Education Foundation administers and manages this scholarship program. Who is eligible - Current high school students who will be seniors during the 2025–2026 school year. - Residents of the State of Delaware. - Applicants must intend to pursue further education at an accredited college or university. - This award is not based on financial need. - Immediate family members of BBB staff and BBB Board members are ineligible. Key deadline - Application deadline: January 14, 2026 by 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Application requirements - Completed application (keep a copy for your records). - One or more essays as requested on the application. - Two letters of recommendation. - A copy of your most recent high school transcript — either submitted with your application or sent directly by your school. - On the application, name a BBB‑Accredited business located in your local town. Applicants must use bbb.org to locate and identify the accredited company; listing the company name on the form satisfies this requirement. Selection and judging process - Applications and essays will be evaluated by an independent panel composed of business and community leaders selected by the BBB. - Judging is performed using a blind review process: personally identifying information will be removed to protect privacy and ensure impartiality. - Recipients are chosen based on demonstrated leadership, contributions to community and school, personal integrity, academic record, and the written essay. - The Selection Committee will review submissions and may request interviews of finalists. Decisions by the judges are final. Award notification and disbursement - Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the annual BBB awards ceremony. - Scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient’s accredited institution after verification of the student’s enrollment. Additional terms and privacy - All submitted materials become the property of the Better Business Bureau and will not be returned. - In accordance with BBB privacy policy, the Delaware BBB will use personal information provided only for the purposes for which it was submitted.
