Roger W. Kahn Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
The Roger W. Kahn Scholarship was established in tribute to Roger Kahn (1907–1962), a man known for his love of aviation and the arts. Kahn dedicated the latter part of his professional life to Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation, where he served as a test pilot before overseeing the technical service and sales department. In the 1940s, Kahn played an active role in the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences (a precursor to AIAA), eventually becoming its vice president. Kahn's talents extended beyond aviation; he was a skilled jazz musician from the 1920s onwards, composing music for stage and early cinema, leading various orchestras, and recording for pioneering record labels such as Victor, Brunswick, and Columbia.
